Our mission
Our mission is to walk alongside you—offering empathetic peer support, evidence-based education, and a safe space to share the challenges and triumphs of life with diabetes.
Our vision
A world where no one feels alone in their diabetes journey, and every person has the tools, knowledge, and support to live a full, healthy, and empowered life.
Who we are
The Health Factory Diabetes Support Group is a welcoming community created to support people living with diabetes through practical education, emotional care, and shared experiences. We exist to help individuals feel informed, supported, and confident in managing daily life.
How we started
The Health Factory Diabetes Support Group was formed in response to the growing need for accessible support beyond clinical settings. We began with a simple goal: to create a safe space where people could learn, connect, and feel supported throughout their diabetes journey.
Compassion over Judgment
We recognise that everyone’s diabetes journey is different. We create a safe, respectful space where questions are welcomed, experiences are honoured, and no one feels blamed or shamed for where they are.
Practical Guidance over Overwhelm
Diabetes information can be confusing and overwhelming. We focus on clear, usable guidance that supports real life—simple steps you can apply without stress or pressure.
Community over Isolation
Living with diabetes can feel lonely. We believe connection matters. By sharing experiences, encouragement, and support, we help members feel seen, understood, and less alone.
Empowerment over Fear
Fear thrives in uncertainty. Through education, tools, and shared learning, we help people build confidence, understand their bodies, and take ownership of their health—at their own pace.
The Health Factory Diabetes Support Group is supported by a multidisciplinary team of health-focused professionals, educators, and community facilitators who are passionate about holistic wellbeing.
Our team includes:
-
Health educators with experience in diabetes awareness and lifestyle management
-
Nutrition and wellness advocates
-
Mental health and peer-support facilitators
-
Community moderators trained to foster safe, respectful conversations
While we collaborate with healthcare professionals and evidence-based resources, we are not a medical clinic. Our role is to support, educate, and empower—not to replace professional medical care.
We believe collaboration strengthens impact. Our educational content and advocacy efforts align with guidance from trusted diabetes and health organizations.
We reference and support resources from reputable bodies such as:
-
International diabetes foundations
-
Public health and nutrition organizations
-
Chronic disease awareness initiatives
-
Community health and wellness networks
These partnerships help ensure our content remains accurate, current, and aligned with globally accepted health standards.
